General Care For Flowers

Caring for a flower bed is not all that complicated.

The first step is planting each flower, be it a bulb, an annual, or a perennial, in the right place in terms of its environment. The three basic issues, which are covered in each individual flower file here in Yardener's Helper are:

Is it happy when planted in your horticultural zone?
Is it the right plant for your kind of soil?
Is it planted in the right kind of light?

If you've placed your flowers in the right place then there are only a few tasks you need to consider to keep those flowers happy all season. Again each individual files on the flowers on this site deal with appropriate care requirements during the growing seson. This section helps you understand the basic tasks as they apply in general to caring for all flowers.
