Strategy For Dealing With Gopher
To prevent gophers from invading your yard and damaging your most desirable plants, shrubs and trees, you have two basic options. You can kill the gopher or you can aggravate it enough so that it leaves your property alone. Barriers are discussed here, but are not a particularly appropriate option for the home landscape.
To aggravate the gopher into leaving you will need to try two or three different repelling techniques, a new one every two weeks or so. You want to offend as many of that gopher’s senses as you can, but offend them one at a time. That way the gopher never gets used to any one repellent. You keep confusing him or her and finally the animal will decide that your yard is not a pleasant place to dine.
