Question From: Fort Worth, Texas, United States
Q: I planted some beautiful African Marigolds recently. They seem to be thriving and are fine except for some having their heads cut off. The blooms are severed a little below on the stem. I have seen a few snails and treated for them but nothing else. They appear to have been cut. I can't imagine what it could be. I have them in a planter on the west side and 3 of them have dropped heads like this.
A: My guess is you have a wood chuck. He/She may not like the taste of the flowers but can't resist a bite or two. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
