Thomas, I don't have any personal experience with them, so I talked to Dale White at Uncle Luke's in Troy. He specializes in organic gardening products. Dale said he's been selling them for several years. Do they work - yes, no and maybe. They must be mixed and applied properly. Temps 55 - 60. Watered in well and so forth. There are many strains, so you need to buy the right kind. These crittters are not winter hardy, so you will need to apply them every year. Milky Spore - a beneficial bacterium may be a better choice - it too needs careful application, but once established the bacterium live for 5 to 7 years. I'd do a good bit of research before using either. I live in the country and grow country grass - if it's green it grows. I do not treat for grubs. The nematodes cost between $25 and $30 for a canister that treat 2000 sq. feet, not cheap. Hope this helps. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
Alternatives For Treating Grubs

Q: Grubs have been a bane in our court and surrounding area. I've been looking at beneficial nematodes as a alternative to grub-ex or bayer grub killer (24hr. and season long). My neighbors are interested also. Question is whether they are effective enough because I would rather use the soil microbes than chemicals if I can. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
