Question From: MICHIGAN
Q: For the past two years, I have had trouble getting my summer squash plants to produce squash-lots of blossoms, few squash. Have taken to help pollinate with a small brush. I have lots of bees around my patio flowers. Question: next year I want to plant flowers around the vegetable garden to entice more bees over there. I'm thinking marigolds, but is there a better flower to use? Thanks.
A: there are dozens of annuals that attract bees. Google best annuals to attract bees for a list and pick your favorites. I plant all kinds annuals and have found that sadly the bee count is way down both this year and last. Hopefully the weather will be better next year and count will increase.
