Q: I have 7 magnolia gems that have reached upto 3m but are dying back especially in summer. Possibly harsh position with a brick wall behind and paving in front of the garden bed. The soil is quite alkaline too. However Im concerned that phytopthera cinnamomi (maybe) is in adjacent bed with struggling citrus trees showing telltale signs. Can this fungus affect Magnolias?
