Q: Is there any way to overwinter Mandivilla vines? Last year I brought the pots inside and tried everything but they dropped all the leaves & dried out. This year I've been misting and religiously watering to keep the roots moist but I see the same thing happening. Can they be put into an unheated garage like overwintering roses? I'm thinking the air in the breezeway is too warm. Any suggestions?
A: You may try to overwinter it in a dormant state. Water it well, cut it back to 10 inches and store it in a dark area, such as a basement, over the winter. Google how to overwinter a mandevilla for more tips. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
