Question From: A. Pilarz - Northville, Michigan, United States
Q: Hi Nancy my mom has a "Christmas cactus" that is wilting away. It has been in the same potting soil for apx. 6yrs. the container is apx. 16"rnd. X 14"high. We water it once on Sat.'s and keep it in a semi-sunny spot. If I can't figure out how to help this plant I fear it won't bloom this Christmas. Also the plant has been in the family for at least 15-18yrs. so it has been around awhile, any thing you can tell me will be a help. I only have this e-mail. Thank You for any assistance.
A: Christmas cactus should be watered well and then let the top inch of soil dry before watering again. Too much direct sunlight may cause it to wilt. Google how to care for a Christmas cactus for more tips on blooming etc. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
