Question From: CALIFORNIA
Q: I have a small clematis plant that died back to the crown. It has not put up any new leaf sprouts in over a year. I checked yesterday and the roots seem healthy and solid, no rot or problems that I can see. Will this ever sprout again? Or should I just give up?
A: If the plant has not produced leaves in a year it has been unable to make food to thrive. I would call it day. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
