Q: I have a walking stick that is being treated for filbert disease. The other day I noticed a pussy willow with somewhat similar noduals in the dead stems that I was pruning away from the still live bush. I was wondering I'd the pussy willow could also have the filbert disease or is it something different.
A: I believe filbert blight is plant specific and only attacks members of the filbert family. There are many diseases that attack willows. Take samples of the affected areas to your independent garden center for an accurate ID and form of control. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
