Question From: Homosassa, Florida, United States
Q: I have a long established crape myrtle, has 4 to 5 large trunks. One has died, leaves dried on it as well as the flowers. Bottom of infected trunk showes new shoots. Rest of the tree looks normal. Started out looking normal this spring. Has not been sprayed on or around at all.
A: RoseMary, I recommend you have an on-site inspection by a trained tree doctor - a certified arborist. He/she will be able to give you accurate advice and access what needs to be done. We can't grow crapes here in Michigan, so anything I would recommend would be a guess and that could cost you the tree. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
