Question From: C. Green - OREGON
Q: My daffodils, narcissus and tulips hardly bloomed this year, unlike other years when they are plentiful. I don't dig them, so there was nothing new in their environment that I know of. We had a mild winter, so no freeze damage. There doesn't seem to be any insect damage in any of the bulbs I dug up. The tulips in one plot were sparse last year and this year all areas were affected. The info I found suggested too shallow planting, but that is not the case. Thanks for your help.
A: Carolyn, Your daffs may need dividing. Tulips, especially the hybrids are short lived. Species tulips rebloom best. Here in Michigan we treat hybrids as annuals. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
