Question From: Spanish Fork, Utah, United States
Q: I have Dalias and Petunia and both are being eaten by insects. How do I address this?
A: Janet, You need to identify what insects are eating your flowers. Slugs are often the culprits, but they only feed at night, so using a flashlight after dark check the plants. They are part of the snail family and leave behind shiny trails. If you have snails I suggest using a product that contains iron phosphate, such as Sluggo at the recommended rate. Pesticide sprays will not kill this slugs. Good Luck, Nancy and Happy Yardening
