Q: Hello Nancy: How can I prevent my hostas from looking like swiss cheese? I've used several products over the years to no avail. Any suggestions? Many thanks.
A: Your hostas are being eaten by slugs. A product that contains iron phosphate, such as Sluggo or Bonide slug and snail bait works well and is safe for all. Follow the instructions. This is not a silver bullet and you will have to reapply it every couple of weeks. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
