Question From: L. Imlay - Riverton, Utah, United States
Q: I have an older peach tree that now only bears on the far reaches of the branches. How severely can I cut it back to spur new growth? Some of the laterals are 2 or 3 inches in diameter and have no new shoots other than those at the end of the branch.
A: Lynn, I am not a specialist in the care of fruit trees, so I cannot advise you on this issue. I suggest you take some photos and contact a orchardist in your area or your country extension officer. Good Luck and Happy Yardening, Nancy
