Question From: Northford, Connecticut, United States
Q: The wind and heavy snow toppled over my 8' Arborvitae and 3/4 of the root ball is exposed and is still frozen to the ground. How do I care for it until weather permits getting it upright.
A: Replant it ASAP. I would cover the root ball with a canvas trap to keep it moist. When you plant it, use a Mycorrhizal soil ammendment, such as Myke, according tp package directions. Mulch the surface of the aoil with 3 inches of good organic material and keep the tree well watered so the soil stays moist, but not sodden. Good Luck, Nancy
