Question From: L. Berlin - Phoenix, Maryland, United States
Q: How to eliminate mimosa webworm from a small honey locust tree? What can be sprayed on them in the early summer? Bayer Advanced stated that they only have one product ( a granular ) that is for Roses that will eliminate the mimosa webworm. Can I use this on my small tree and/ or can you recommend a different product? I am asking since a tree service wants 150.00 to spray the tree next June!!! It is small enough that I thought I could tackle this myself with a spray of some sort. Thank you very much for any assistance.
A: Here's an online resource from Perdue that gives a list of products that will work on your honey locust tree: https://extension.entm.purdue.edu/publications/E-11.pdf. The Bayer Rose and flower systemic can also be used on small trees. Check out the Bayer Advanced product website for more information and contact them if you need more specifics. It takes time for a systemic to work. So don't wait until June to do your homework. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
