Question From: Northville, Michigan, United States
Q: I have several Hydrangea plants. You mention there are three different types requiring different care. How can I tell which hydrangea I have ? Added info .... we planted them about 5 years ago with the "new" type hydrangea that blooms more frequently. Also, would it be advisable to cover them for the winter
A: Thomas, you can identify them by their leaves and flowers. Take photos to your local garden center for an ID. The only ones that need protection are the big leafs, also called macrophyllas. The new reblooming pink or blue flowered hydrangeas would be in this catagory. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
