Question From: CONNECTICUT
Q: What product kills shot hole bores in cherry laurel. How often and when should shrubs be sprayed?
A: A light horticultural oil sprayed on *cherrylaurel* shrubs while they are dormant in late winter or early spring will smother over wintering scale. Spray Sevin when the young larvae (or "crawlers") have hatched and before they start forming their new scales. An independent garden center or nursery in your area can advise you as to timing and best products to use. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
