Question From: L. L - Columbia, Maryland, United States
Q: Nancy, Last year I planted coreopsis flowers for my front yard that go into a flower box into the ground. They developed solid black spots on their leaves and eventually died. Was this a fungus? I read your articles on how to prevent this. I'm going to try to plant them one more time and use your tips. Any other suggestions would be great! Thank you
A: Too much water and fertilizer will weaken these plants so don't overdo it. Water to keep the soil moist, not sodden. Amending the soil with a good compost will do. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
