Question From: D. Helisek - Manchester, Michigan, United States
Q: I have had leafminers diagnosed on my chestnut tree, about 15' tall. I was wondering what to use as an overwintering spray or dormant spray to kill the miners in the ground. When is the best time to do this spraying?Natural or chemical pesticides would both be appreciated.
A: Spray for leaf minor just as tree has leafed out in spring. Must hit both sides of leaves and repeat every three days for a couple of weeks. A neem based pesticide would do the trick. Or - you could just ignore them. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
