Question From: T. Binti Mohd Firdaus - ARKANSAS
Q: Hi Nancy, I bought a potted aster yesterday and after I got home I decided to water it a bit about half a cup and even sprinkled some water on the leaves. Today after I got back from work the poor plant is wilting and I've checked the soil to see that I didn't over watered and the soil was dry. Please help :< I've never had much experienced with gardening and I wanted to try taking care of a potted plant to see how it goes.
A: These plants are pot bound and take a good amount of water. To revive it, set it in a container of water and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then allow it to drain well. When watering run water at soil level until the water runs out the holes in the bottom of the pot. Get yourself a moisture meter ( plant department at big box.) to help you figure out the plants needs. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
