Question From: J. Guenther - MICHIGAN
Q: Nancy,I followed your advice re planting grass seed and have very little grass growing. It has been two weeks. Squirrels have been a nuisance digging holes and burying walnuts from a neighbor's tree. Is it too late to try again and when do I fertilize? I used organimax. Thanks, I enjoy your column.
A:
The secret to sprouting grass seed is keeping the soil moist. That might mean sprinkling twice a day. Do not fertilize. Smooth over squirrel digs and sprinkle a bit more grass seed. I'd fertilize with Grass Magic at half rate at the end of October. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
