Q: Hello My question is regarding my Japanese Andromedas. Many of them have leaves that have turned bronze and are falling off. None of them have flowered this year. There are 2 that are scanty and look dead, but when I trim a piece off there is still green. Will it help if I cut them back? I really don't want to do that:( Thank you. I am in Zone 5.
A: Pruning is not recommended for trees or shrubs that are in decline. Take some sample cuttings to a nursery or independent garden center for an accurate diagnosis. The plants may have a fungal disease. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
