Japanese Garden Junipers Turning Brown

Question From: D. trimpa - OKLAHOMA
Q: My japanese garden junipers are turning brown, they are about 18 years old and have always been very green and lush. They are now dying from the inside out and turning brown first then dying...only spotty tho. I hardly water them now and we are hot and dry, but I have never watered them before, do i need to water them now?

A:

Sounds like they are dying of thirst. They need an inch of water a week to remain healthy. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
