Q: Hello I am writing about my Japanese maples and a crepe myrtle - both well established. This fall, the leaves on all of them curled and dried early and then failed to drop off. Can you tell anything about what might be happening to them? Thanks for your help Sydney

Lack of water and heat are probably the issue. I suggest you mulch with a good organic material and be sure to keep the soil moist during the growing season. Happy Yardening, Nancy
