Q: our magnolia had scales last year. This year it appears healthier but has some bright punk clusters on it. They are not uniformly shaped , look about like chocolate covered peanut clusters but bright pink . There are a few bright pink berries also emerging . Could it be happening because of a very mild winter, early spring and summer drought? Thanks, Donna

Donna, I am not qualified to answer tree problems. Too easy to make a bad call and you could loose the tree. I recommend you have your tree inspected by a trained tree doctor, a certified arborist. Happy Yardening, Nancy
