Question From: C. Schulz - Brown Deer, Wisconsin, United States
Q: I planted a young clump river birch in spring of 2018. The tree looks healthy and vibrant but the new growth has much larger leaves than those of the rest of the tree when i planted it. Is this normal or should i be concerned? The larger leaves appear healthy and are on the whole tree not just in one area. Thanks
A: I would be very concerned if the leaves were smaller. While I can't explain the expansion of the leaves, I know of no issues that would cause this. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
