Q: I brought my New Guinea impatiens in for the winter and it was doing well, even started to bloom in the window. It has started to develop a grainy white substance at the ends of leaves near the stock. No new blooms and losing some leaves. Not a terrible problem right now, what can I do?
A: My guess is your impatiens has powdery mildew. Wet leaves, lack of circulation and low light are common causes. Removing infected leaves is usually recommended. You can also spray with a fungicide such as Neem oil. Be sure to hit the bottom of the leaves. Best Nancy and Happy Gardening
