Q: I just transplanted white sun patiens into a pot. The flower petals have brown spots on them. I have not fertilized the plants. What is wrong?
A: I don't have an answer for you. If the spot were on the leaves it would be leaf spot disease. I would take photos and samples of damage to an independent garden center or nursery for an ID. One guess is the plants came out of a greenhouse and were not hardened off. Hopefully the new flowers will be spot free. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
