Question From: Commerce charter Township, Michigan, United States
Q: I have two orchids that had shed their blossoms. I kept the remains in the pot they came in and watered them regularly. Now I have a host of green leaves that have emerged and become about 8" in length. Plus there are shoots that have arisen from the stem that are a translucent light green in color and are growing upward and outward. Are these in any way indicators that the plants are trying to regenerate themselves?
A: Those are actually aerial roots and are an indication the orchids are doing well. Google how to grow orchids for more information on how to care for them. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
