Question From: Wellington, Colorado, United States
Q: Our ornamental pear tree's top leaves are turning yellow and looking dead and the whole tree is covered with wasps. What would be the treatment?
A: The wasps are probably going after honey dew given off by insects. The wasps will not hurt the tree. Take samples of the dying leaves and a small branch to a local garden center or nursery that sells these trees for an accurate ID and recommended control. Best, Nancy.
