Question From: Winslow, Arkansas, United States
Q: My petunia "buds" start out green then turn brown and have seeds in the pod - why? Not getting many flowers!
A: High heat will do it. The plants go dormant when the temps climb so pollination does not take place and the buds turn brown. I'd cut them back and keep them watered. When the temperatures drop back into low eighties fertilize them with a petunia fertilizer like Jack's Classic Petunia Feed. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
