Q: My tall phlox have brown leaves 3-4 inches at the base and spreading upward. there are no aphids, mildew or root rot that i can detect. they are not crowded.
A: Your phlox have a fungal disease. Remove and destroy damaged leaves and spray with fungicide every 7 to 10 days. I plant them in the rear of the garden to hide this damage because I don't use chemicals. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
