Question From: D. Peek - Supply, North Carolina, United States
Q: Nancy-----I planted a pink dogwood a little while ago and it now has been girdled about 3/4 around. Can I save it with some kind of coating or coverage? What else could I do?--Diane
A: Let nature take its course. If the cambium layer was severed the tree is toast. So the prospects do not look good. Studies have shown that wrapping and sealing injuries to tree trunks does more harm than good. Best Nancy and thanks for visiting Yardener.com.
