Question From: Manteo, North Carolina, United States
Q: I have planted pole beans again this year as I have for the last 15 years. My plants are very healthy and have climbed higher than my fencing. For some reason I do not have any beans. I have seen some flowers but no beans. I rotate the crops in my garden every year but this is very puzzling. All other plants in my garden have done very well this year with no problems. I normally have more beans than I can eat, freeze or give away but as of yet none. What could be the problem? Thank you for all of your help.
A: Excessive fertilizer will keep prevent beans from flowering and excessive heat will prevent flowering and flowers from setting fruit. That's my best guess Mike. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy.
