Question From: J. Eddy - Charlottesville, Virginia, United States
Q: I live in Charlottesville, VA (zone 7) and have a hillside of willow-leafed cotoneaster and sargents juniper that has problems with various weeds (mostly grasses and broadleaf). I am looking for a pre-emergent and post-emergent spray/granule that I can apply to help control the weeds that will not kill the cotoneaster or the juniper. Thanks for your help
A: Preen is a pre emergent in granular form that should work. Post emergent is a problem. You could try are very careful application of RoundUp, but it will be labor intensive as it will kill anything it touches so you will almost have to paint it on by hand. I recommend you contact your country horticulture agent for advice. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
