Q: Dear Nancy, Saw your answer about a River Birch in Virginia that bloom seedlings and dropping petals all over the yard. Can I prevent this from happening? I have seen other River Birch in the North East area not displaying the same problems that I'm having with my River Birch.
A: Check with a certified arborist to see if there is a spray to prevent the formation of seeds. River birches drop seeds from spring to fall, depending on the weather.
