Question From: j. lowery - Chicago, Illinois, United States
Q: my prunus tenella is three years old and has yet to flower. What should I do or just wait?
A: The shrub produces flower buds on previous year' growth. A late season frost may damage them. Pruning in fall or spring before flowering will cut off the flower buds. Lack of water in fall and going into winter will also damage flower buds. Hope this helps. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
