Question From: D. Robertson - Livonia, Michigan, United States
Q: After reading your article on "Regal Petticoat" maple, we went to Glendas Garden Center and purchased a nice specimen..that was just about a year ago...during this summer we saw "spots" on the leaves of the tree and now holes have developed and the edges of the leaves are turning brown and curling up...we are just sick to see this happen and I have taken super care of this tree...do you have any help or suggestions for me to do to help with this situation??
A: Donald, I am not a trained tree professional. If it were my tree I would get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one in your area to www.tcia.org. If you have clay soil you may have been overwatering it. The sudden heat wave along with lack of rain may have caused scorching on the leaves. Best Nancy
