Question From: Tecumseh, Michigan, United States
Q: Hi Nancy. My Shasta Daisies have little red and black bugs on them. They are definitely hurting the plant. The leaves have brown and black dots all over them. Do you know what kind of bug this is and what to do about it? They are mostly red, red body, red head, black stripe or band right behind the head. They are soft bodied. Thank you for your time, Jennifer.
A: The brown dots are probably from the four lined bug. The little bugs you see may be the nymphs. Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew containing spinosad will knock them back. Use it early in the morning when bees and beneficials are still in bed. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
