Q: Last winter my boxwoods suffered significant damage from the cold turning brown in large areas of the shrub. last summer, I trimmed the shrubs as usual. They didn't experience regrowth in the damaged areas. Again this year due to a severe winter the damage seems to have spread. My shrubs are about 3 feet high. The bottom 6 inches of the shrub continue to be green - should I top trim the shrub to the 6 inch height??
A: Hey Joseph, It's worth a try. Your only other option is to replace them. Just be sure to keep them well watered through out the season. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
