Question From: J. Fritsch - Waupaca, Wisconsin, United States
Q: A flowering shrub, bought 1-yr ago, leafed out & beginning to blossom, had one naked branch. Upon closer inspection I found a cobweb-like area in the crotch of the bare branch filled with gross green-brown worms nesting but also some escaping the web structure. I ran & grabbed a can of RAID & sprayed the mess till nothing moved. So what now, do I prune & remove the branch or leave it and it will it come back next year?
A: Prune out the branch and deposit it in the trash. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
