Question From: E. Chiappetta - MICHIGAN
Q: What is the easiest way to thin, and in some cases, remove Rudbeckia? They have taken over my perenial gardens...I pulled many up last fall to thin the beds, but they have spread more.
A:
You can carefully paint the leaves with the herbicide Roundup. It will kill or badly damage any plant it touches, so be very careful when using it and watch the drips. Of course there is always the shovel. 'Goldstrum' reseeds, so dead head the flowers before they set seed. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
