Question From: VERMONT
Q: I have some lovely tulips, but two or three of them are doubled over because their stems have been damaged about 2/3 of the way up the stem. The damaged areas have a shredded look and the "skin" of the stem has peeled back like banana peels, as if someone had cut around the stem with a little knife. Oddly, the affected tulips are still blooming. Could this be some kind of bug? Any idea what caused this?
A: There aren't a lot of bugs out at this time of the year, so I have to think it's an animal. What kind, I haven't a clue. Please let us know if you find out. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
