Question From: Smithfield, Pennsylvania, United States
Q: We have the creeping, blue rug, juniper on a bank beside our car & truck. we have noticed small dots (like sap) on the vehicles. Is it possible for the juniper secreting these small droplets, and the wind carrying them onto the vehicles?
A: The "dots" are probably honey dew given off by aphids and they could well be on the junipers. Hosing them down every three days with a stiff stream of water should wash them away. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
Comment: Is there an insectside (7 spray or something like that to control the aphids?
Response: Sevin is over kill for aphids. A heavy stream of water every 3 days will blast them away. When choosing an insecticide, always read the entire label before using. It will tell you what insects it kill and what plants to use it on. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
