Q: My viburnum is about 14 years old and sits in the center of a very nice garden which is irrigated twice a week for about an hour. This year in a severe period of drought the leaves are dropping off. I have been hand watering it another 2-3 times per week for about 10 min. Can you advise: 1. Will it come back? 2. Advice on watering or what to do? We are located in New Braunfels, TX in the Hill Country about 35 miles north of SanAntonio. Thanks,
A: My guess is your shrub is suffering from lack of water. Deep watering is necessary during drought. It should be on bubbler or sprinkler for an hour once a week. Will it survive - that I can't tell you. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
