Q: I planted wax begonias in the ground using compost and later fertilized it using Omnicote. However, 3 months passed and the plants hardly developed, growth very stunted and flowering appears aborted. I am really puzzled why this is happening since I have always been successful in growing begonias. The begonias are planted in sunny spot.
A: Stunting of begonias is caused by excessive heat and/or lack of water, planting in cold soil ( below 50 degrees) or growers using excessive plant growth regulators, known as PGRs. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
Q: How come one begonia, from the same batch, which I planted in a container grew normally with beautiful pink flowers? Sunny location. Thank you for your help.
