Question From: Livonia, Michigan, United States
Q: What type of weed is behind my property that is about 2'-3' and the top has bright yellows at the top of the stem with the flowers seem to point outward on all sides of stem at the very top.. the flowered stem is about 3" to 4" long by a estimate. It is along a large wooded area in a weed and glass rough area and covers a frontal area about 3' x 7'! Is it ragweed or some other family member! It has a stream nearby and many areas of fallen trees and other field trash dead materials!
A: Sounds like golden rod to me. It is not a member of rag weed. Great for use in cut flower arrangements. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
