Q: we need to replace a 25+ year old camphor tree that provided a great deal of shade for our home-can you recommend something of same or like species, and give me an approximate cost of tree, and planting? Thank you.

Nancy, I am unable to recommend a replacement for you as I live in Michigan - another world, garden-wise. I suggest you contact your city forester. A botanical garden in your area would be another good resource as would an independent nursery. Good Luck Nancy and Happy Yardening
